Google Maps 5.12.0 now offered in Android Market adds one feature, removes another. The latest update for Google Maps is now available in the Android Market for free. It will run on those Android handsets powered by Android 2.1 or higher and adds one feature from Places while dropping another. We might as well get rid of the deletion first. "Post to Twitter" which was found on the Places section of Google Maps has been 86'd.

What has been added is live events which can be found on the Places page for New York, San Francisco, Paris, Zurich, and London. If you're one of those people that needs to be where the action is, this update will let you know where the action is in those cities
